OBDLink MX WiFi is described by the company that makes it as a “swiss army knife for your car,” which isn’t surprising when you see what it can do. The device turns your smart phone, tablet, or PC into a sophisticated diagnostic scan tool, trip computer, and real-time performance monitor – all of which can be used with a variety of highly-rated apps.

OBDLink has so far only shipped a dozen prototypes to their most trusted beta testers, but thefeedback has been nothing but positive so far. In order to get the production line rolling, the company has launched a Kickstarter Campaign, which has already smashed through it’s $35,000 and just pushed through the $150,000 mark. You can still get one of the devices for $79, which is $40 less than the normal retail price, and based on the enthusiasm so far, a very good deal.
