VOLKSWAGEN'S AUGMENTED REALITY CAFE
By Carat News on Wheels June 2012
To demonstrate how little power the electric Golf needs, Volkswagen have created an Augmented Reality cafe at one of their Hong Kong dealerships. While the customers wait to test drive the Golf EV, they are provided with iPads at the AR cafe. With the iPads they can explore different facts that compare the power usage of the electric Golf to everyday household. One of the facts presented, for example, is that making a fruit smoothie with a blender takes as much power as the electric Golf needs to drive for up to 11 kilometers. The AR cafe presents a nice, contextually relevant way to keep customers entertained while waiting for their test drive.
