Apparently the best way to sell the new Toyota 86 is to show long-haired revheads and men going through mid life crises doing donuts in abandoned quarries. A strange one but a must watch.

The ad, which has come out of Belgium, has definitely picked a very select target market.

A piece in Carsguide.com.au said of the commercial this week: “White trash mid-life crisis is the focus for selling the Toyota 86 in Belgium.”

All we can say is that it has amazing visuals like a Ryan McGinley youth exploration photograph and a soundtrack worthy of a Wes Anderson or Spike Jonze film.

Because yes, it is that wonderfully bizarre. Perhaps even a little refreshingly controversial.
